Doing the Right Things, for the Right Reasons
When God tells you to do something, you have to take your own thought processes completely out of it and move straight into obedience. In today's message, we are diving deep into Matthew 6 to uncover the biblical truth behind our motives and what it really means to practice the Kingdom of God in our everyday lives.
Jesus teaches us that good works are not wrong when they are done to glorify God, but they become worthless when done just to be seen by men. Whether we are giving, serving the church, or volunteering to help scholarship students at the college, our ultimate goal must be giving God the glory. The enemy wants to squash your testimony by making you hide what God is doing, but when people see how the Lord is blessing others through you, that is Kryptonite to the devil!
Too often, we wonder why we keep sowing seed after seed and never see the breakthrough or the spiritual growth we are praying for. The hard truth is that sometimes our pride cancels our harvest; we got our reward when we made sure everyone saw what we did instead of doing it in secret for the Lord. We don't live off the applause of men, but you can live off the Word of God you are getting right now. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to mold us today, let God write this Bible teaching on the tablets of your heart, and put it into practice.
